Collegiate Professional

Program

The Suits for Sons Collegiate program is a 9 month curriculum designed to propel potential leaders into successful careers and service to the community. 

 

​Participants are paired with a primary mentor within their career or interest and participate through 9 monthly guided learning modules:

​

  1. Leadership

  2. Community Responsibility

  3. Values & Goal Setting

  4. Diversity & Inclusion

  5. Domestic & International Business Etiquette

  6. Conflict Resolution

  7. Personal Finance

  8. Giving Effective Presentations

  9. Networking, Resume Writing, & Interview Preparation

 

Learning sessions include application exercise, a dress for success tip, an etiquette lesson and often feature guest speakers from various sectors of the local business community.

 

In addition, participants will be responsible for completing 18 hours of personal community service and a group enrichment project to be presented to program mentors, community leaders and sponsors.

Applicant Qualities
  • Current  college enrollment

  • Willingness to commit to the time and energy required to complete the program

  • Excel in academics and express a desire for personal development

  • Have demonstrated a capacity for leadership 

  • Have a strong interest and commitment to the community

  • Display evidence of mature judgment 

  • Possess a clear ability to function well in a group 

  • May hold positions of leadership in their student organizations, professional organizations, places of employment and/or volunteer organizations

Requirements

Involvement in the program requires both commitment and a substantial time contribution. Attendance at all program events is required. Additionally, all participants are expected to actively contribute in assigned team activities, planning committees, discussion groups, site visits, cultural events, and social activities. Multiple absences and/or a lack of engagement may be grounds for dismissal from the program.

The Perks

In addition to access to a network of professional mentors and sponsors, upon completion of the program, participants will receive a tailored suit and qualify for a scholarship to assist in the continued pursuit of their education.

Application Process

Annually, a group of individuals are selected to participate in the program. To apply follow the steps outlined below:

  • Participate in the interview process
